vcsuSports-smallValley City (CSi) The Valley City State University volleyball program has finalized its 2016 recruiting class this week with the addition of Leah Ruter, a native of Willmar, Minnesota.

A 5-foot-11 outside hitter, Ruter played last season at University of Minnesota Morris and will transfer to VCSU with three years of eligibility.

Jamestown (CSi) University of Jamestown head women’s wrestling coach Tony DeAnda announces the signing of Alyssa Schrull of East Helena, Montana, who will join the Jimmies in the fall of 2016.

Schrull competed four years for the Helena High Bengals and earned nine All-American honors in different divisions. She is a three-time USAW State Champion in folkstyle, freestyle, and Greco-Roman. 

 University of Jamestown head men’s basketball coach Danny Neville announces the signing of Jace Allard, who will join the Jimmies in the 2016-2017 season.

As a senior, Jace, a 6’3″ guard, averaged 17.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game for Rawlins High School in Wyoming. Allard was an All-State selection his junior and senior years, and was a three-time member of the All-Conference team.

University of Jamestown head men’s basketball coach Danny Neville announces the signing of Trey Butterworth of Wingate, Penn., who will join the Jimmies in the 2016-2017 season.

As a senior, Trey, a 5’9″ guard, averaged 18.2 points, 5.8 assists, and 3 steals per game for Bald Eagle Area High School in Pennsylvania. Trey was named 1st team All-Conference as a senior and voted best offensive player on his team.

University of Jamestown head coach Nick Becker announces the signing of Amanda Eijansantos of Livermore, Calif., who will join the Jimmies in the fall of 2016.

Amanda has been a two year starter at Granada High School. She was named Most Improved and Most Valuable Player, and also maintained a 4.0 grade point average. She played her club soccer for West Coast Soccer, where she was part of the National Cup Finalist team in 2014. She has also had success as a concertmaster in orchestra.

University of Jamestown head coach Nick Becker announces the signing of Jessica Friesz of Pahrump, Nev., who will join the Jimmies in the fall of 2016.

Jessica was a four-year player at Pahrump High School. She maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school.  

Friesz played her club soccer for Pahrump Trojans, which posted two 10-win seasons with only one loss in each of those years.  

University of Jamestown women’s track & field coach Jim Clark announces that Maddie Rue, who will be a 2016 graduate of Frazee High School in Frazee, Minn., has signed a North Star Athletic Association letter of intent and plans to participate in track & field for the Jimmies.
