Jamestown  (UJ-CSi) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2016 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America Teams

Three University of Jamestown players earned All-American honors for the 2016 season.

The teams were chosen by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee, comprised of NAIA-AVCA officers and the championship committee. Three teams are named, plus honorable mention

warrennichole2Nicole Warren was named to the third team. Warren set a single-season Jimmie record with 797 digs and finished with 1612 for her career. She is second all-time on the career digs list, behind Candy Rohwedder’s 1922. Warren also earned NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honors twice in the 2016 season.

Morgan Hensch and  Haley Glascoe earned honorable mention recognition.

Hensch returned after missing the 2015 due to injury and posted 401 kills, the 10th-best single season mark in Jimmie history. She also recorded 103 blocks, the fourth-best mark on the team.

 

 

glasoehaleyGlasoe  totalled 206 blocks in 2016, breaking the previous record of 171 set by Sarah Becker in 2011. She was also one of six Jimmies to record 200+ kills this season.

 

Jamestown made it to the final site of the NAIA Volleyball Championship for the first time in program history, finishing with a record of 26-14. The 26 wins is just one behind the all-time record of 27, set in 2012, which was the first time UJ qualified for the national tournament.
