BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota’s Game and Fish Department says 522 swan hunting licenses remain after this year’s license lottery.

Only hunters who don’t have a swan license for the 2017 season can apply, as regulations limit hunters to one license per year.

A total of 2,700 licenses were made available this year. The remaining licenses will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis beginning Sept. 6.

The statewide tundra swan hunting season starts Sept. 30 and runs through the end of the year.
