MINOT, N.D. (UJ.edu) — Taking a 16-point lead into the fourth quarter of Monday evening’s game against Minot State University, the Jimmie women’s basketball team appeared to have momentum on their side.

A 21-8 run by the Beavers to open the fourth quarter quickly turned a double-digit Jimmie lead into a single-digit deficit, and Jamestown led by just three with 3:54 seconds to play.

Two buckets by Paige Emmel (SR/Bismarck, ND) and three free throws from Bryn Woodside (SR/Albert Lea, MN) down the stretch helped Jamestown come away with an 80-77 victory over Minot State.

The win improved the Jimmies’ record to 6-2, while the Beavers suffered their first loss of the season, falling to 2-1.
