Jamestown def Morningside-25-16,25-20,25-23

Jamestown  (uj.edu)  The University of Jamestown volleyball team snapped a two-game losing streak Saturday with a 3-0 win over Morningside (Iowa) College. Set scores were 25-16, 25-20, 25-23.

Britta Knudson (JR/Bismarck, N.D.) led the Jimmies with 11 kills and a .476 hitting percentage. She also was part of a strong defensive net presence for UJ, finishing with six total blocks. Kennedy Conzemius (SR/Breckenridge, Minn.) added 10 blocks and hit .409 for the match.

Kori Buchanan (SR/Colfax, Wis.) had three solo blocks to go along with four block assists and was joined by Conzemius and Jayla Ritter (SO/Forest Lake, Minn.), who each posted four total blocks.

MIranda Lowman passed out 23 assists to go along with eight digs. Julina Niemeier (SR/Jamestown, N.D.) had a team-high 18 digs from the back row.

Jamestown outhit the Mustangs .221-.078 and made only 15 attack errors to Morningside’s 24.

The Jimmies move to 17-6 on the season and are 7-5 in Great Plains Athletic Conference matches. Next up for Jamestown is a home match on Wednesday against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) University. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
