BALDWIN CITY, Kan.  (uj.edu)  — No. 13 Baker (Kan.) University opened up a 3-0 halftime lead and never looked back in a 7-1 victory over the University of Jamestown men’s soccer team Saturday night.

Jordan Alonge scored twice in the game’s first 12 minutes to put the home side up 2-0. In the 40th minute, Lucas Jacobs increased the lead to 3-0.

The Wildcats added goals in the 47th, 60th, and 74th minutes to break the game wide open. UJ ended the shutout in the 77th minute on a penalty kick by Ruben Zepeda (JR/Puebla, Mexico).

Baker (3-2-2) added a seventh goal 52 seconds from time to round out the scoring.

Shots were 20-6 (12-3 on goal) in favor of the Wildcats, as were corner kicks (5-2). A total of 30 fouls were committed in the match, 17 on Baker.

Jamestown (2-3) is at Presentation (S.D.) College on Wednesday. Match time is set for 4:30 p.m.

NOTES: Following Wednesday’s match at Presentation, the Jimmies will play four of their next six matches at home…UJ lost back-to-back games for the first time since 10/6 and 10/11 last season…Zepeda improved to 2-for-2 in his career on penalty kicks…Jamestown has made nine of its last 10 penalty kick attempts dating back to 2017…The Jimmies are 6-0-0 against Presentation, having conceded just three goals in the six matches.
