BOULDER, Colo. (uj.edu) — The ninth-ranked University of Jamestown defeated University of Colorado 4-3 in a shootout Friday night, extending its winning streak to 10 games.
The Jimmies won the shootout 4-3 as Aidan Potas (FR/Fargo, N.D.), Allan Pruss (SR/Red Deer, Alberta), Dylan Haney (JR/Brandon, Manitoba), and Jeremy McNeil (SR/Calgary, Alberta) all converted their chances.
Jamestown trailed 2-0 after two periods despite outshooting the Buffaloes 26-13 through the first 20 minutes.
Michael Pruss (SR/Red Deer, Alberta) put the Jimmies on the board at 4:37 of the third period with assists by Haney and Jordan Popoff (FR/Calgary, Alberta). Trevor Okino (SR/Richmond, British Columbia) added a power play goal from McNeil and Potas at 6:52 to tie the game at 2, then Allan Pruss gave UJ its first lead of the night with a goal from Michael Pruss and Ned Simpson (SR/Kitchener, Ontario) at 8:33.
The Jimmies lead lasted just over three minutes as Colorado drew level at 11:37 of the third period.
UJ outshot Colorado 4-2 in overtime and ended the game with a 42-22 shot advantage.
Tyson Brouwer (SR/Lethbridge, Alberta) had 19 saves for Jamestown, who will finish the weekend series against Colorado tomorrow at 5 p.m.
