VC Wings & Wheels Airshow

Valley Cuty (CSi)  The Barnes County Municipal Airport, Saturday, hosted the Wings and Wheels Airshow.

The winner of the  advance ticket raffle drawing.-, was Dale  Wangrud of Valley City, a ride in Toby McPherson’s P-51 Mustang.

The show honored the memory of local aviators including the late Larry Lindemann, Bob Beyer, Phillip “Flip” Miller and Bob Odegaard.

Valley City (CSi)  The Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority will be hosting the 2014 Wings and Wheels Airshow Saturday, September 6, 2014.

The main aerobatic act will be 3^rd generation pilot Matt Younkin performing in his Twin Beech 18 performing maneuvers never thought possible with such a large transport plane. He will also be performing the “Magic By Moonlight” Night Show at 9:00pm that evening.

Other pilots performing are: Kent Pietsch flying in his Interstate Cadet, Warren Pietsch will be flying an A6M2 Zero, Toby McPherson in his P-51 Mustang “Boomer” and in Duggy a DC-3, Kelly Perhus in his T-6 Texan, the Fargo Sky Divers (will be attempting a State Record Sky Dive), Jarrod Lindemann in his Pitts S2C, Paul Lindemann in his Pitts S2B, and a performance of the Original Red Baron Super Stearman by the Lindemann Brothers!

The BCMAA is very excited to be able to bring world-class talent to this year’s Wings and Wheels Airshow. It will be a family friendly event for our community. We will also be featuring: the Bridge City Cruiser’s Show and Shine car show and balance beam competition, Military and Static Aircraft displays, Helicopter rides, Kid’s Inflatable Games, on site Concessions/Beer Garden, Remote Control Aircraft performances, and the Young Eagles free, local airplane rides for youth.

It will be a fun-filled day for all with the gates opening at 10:00am, the Car Show and Shine and Kid’s Inflatable Games beginning at noon, and the Airshow at 2:30pm. Advanced Tickets will go on sale at area locations August 1 for $12. All who purchase Advance Tickets will be entered into a raffle for a chance to ride in a P-51 Mustang!
