Update….Almost $40,000 was raised during the 2015 Barnes County Relay for Life event held in Valley City.

Co-event coordinator Lisa McCulloch said $39,700 was raised including $4,740 from the top team called Berntson’s Walkers, and over $4,000 was raised during the Ford Motor Company Drive 4 UR Community event held by Stoudt Ross Ford.

Casidy Tibke raise another $3,300 in various fundraising events weeks before the Barnes County Relay for Life.

175 people on 9 teams and some 80 survivors participated in the Barnes County Relay for Life on June 19.

All of the event coordinators express their appreciation to the community for their support of the American Cancer Society and the Barnes County Relay For Life.

Co-event coordinator Lisa McCulloch says $4,200 was raised during the Ford Motor Company Drive 4 UR Community event held by Stoudt Ross Ford on June 20 to benefit the Relay for Life.

Another $3,300 was raised by Valley City High School Student Casidy Tibke over several weeks to benefit the American Cancer Society and Barnes County Relay for Life.

The Barnes County Relay for Life kick-offs  Thursday night during a block party in downtown Valley City starting at 5:30-pm.

The event also serves as a kick-off to Rally in the Valley.

Co-event coordinator Tammy Tibke says, Cassidy Tibke will have her hair cut off Thursday evening during the 300 block party.

Cassidy has been raising funds for the American Cancer Society over the last few months leading up to this event tonight

A reminder, the Barnes County Relay for Life will be held Friday night on the south side of the courthouse in Valley City, with the goal to raise $32,000 this year. Last year the event raised more than $28,000 in Barnes County.

 

Another event sponsored by Stoudt Ross Ford and Ford Motor Company called “Drive 4 UR Community” will attempt to raise $6,000 to benefit the Barnes County Relay for Life.

Ford Motor Company will donate $20 per test drive to the local American Cancer Society chapter.

The test drive event will be on the east side of Veterans Park in Valley City from 11am to 2pm on Saturday, June 20, 2015.
