Fletcher resigns, Blue Jays football coach

Jamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Public School Board, Monday evening accepted the resignation of High School football coach Tim Fletcher.

Fletcher and his family will be moving to Bismarck because of a career advancement.

Fletcher led Jamestown to a 12-15 record in three years, and went 2-7 in his first season.

Fletcher led the Blue Jays to their first playoff trip in six years in 2013, falling to eventual-state champion Fargo South in the Class AAA state quarterfinals and finishing 6-4.

Fletcher, the defensive coordinator under previous coach Bill Cahill, over-saw one of Class AAA’s best defenses the past two years, finishing in the top five in the state in points-per-game allowed.
