footballJamestown  (CSi)  The Jamestown Public School Board, Monday evening accepted the resignation of High School football coach Tim Fletcher.

Fletcher and his family will be moving to Bismarck because of a career advancement.

Fletcher led Jamestown to a 12-15 record in three years, and went 2-7 in his first season.

Fletcher led the Blue Jays to their first playoff trip in six years in 2013, falling to eventual-state champion Fargo South in the Class AAA state quarterfinals and finishing 6-4.

Fletcher, the defensive coordinator under previous coach Bill Cahill, over-saw one of Class AAA’s best defenses the past two years, finishing in the top five in the state in points-per-game allowed.
