NDHPJamestown (CSi) The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a two vehicle accident on Tuesday, about 2:30-p.m., on Highway one, one mile east of Sanborn.

The report says, a 2015 Ford Fusion, driven by 88 year old Karl Burkhart, of Dazey, was westbound on Barnes County Road 22 when the vehicle stopped for a stop sign at the Highway One intersection, a mile east of Sanborn. Burkhart pulled out in front of the northbound Freightliner semi/tanker combination, driven by 58 year old Larry Feske of West Fargo. In an attempt to avoid a crash, Feske steered the semi to the left. Burkhart struck the right side of the semi. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch, north of the intersection. No fuel was spilled at the scene.

No Injuries reported.  Both drivers wore seatbelts.

The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.

The accident is under investigation by the NDHP.
