Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown Rural Fire Department responded to reports of burning railroad ties near Eldridge at 7:36 p.m. Thursday.<\/p>\n
JRFD Chief Ben Maulding says two ties were smouldering at separate locations at 74th Avenue, one was about a half mile and the other was one mile west of Eldridge. Ten firefighters in three pickups and a water rig were sent, but the water rig and two personnel returned to base early in the call<\/p>\n
There was no damage to the tracks and rail traffic remained open.<\/p>\n
The units on the scene about an hour.<\/p>\n
