Agnes Mary (Clarys) Samek, age 88 of Wimbledon, ND died Friday May 27, 2016 at ManorCare Nursing Home at Fargo, ND.\u00a0 A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday June 2, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Wimbledon, ND with Rev. John Ejike celebrant.\u00a0 Visitation will be from 5PM until 7PM Wednesday at St. Boniface Church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7PM.\u00a0 Interment will be in St. Boniface Cemetery.<\/p>\n

Agnes Mary (Clarys) Samek was born March 22, 1928 at Dickinson, ND the daughter of Cornelius Peter and Agnes Mary (Ridl) Clarys.\u00a0 She grew up there and attended a local grade school and graduated from St. Mary\u2019s High School.\u00a0 She then attended Dickinson State College where she earned a teaching certificate and taught school for a time.\u00a0 On Nov. 25, 1948 she married Laudie Samek at Dickinson.\u00a0 The couple moved to Wimbledon, ND where they farmed.\u00a0 Agnes did upholstery work out of her home and then opened the SilverNook Uphostery Shop in Wimbledon.\u00a0 She also owned and operated the Wimbledon Caf\u00e9 for many years.\u00a0 Agnes was very involved in the community and was a member of the\u00a0 St. Boniface Altar Society, the local homemakers club, was the CCD Director for St. Boniface Church for over 30 years, and sang in the church choir.\u00a0 Laudie died in 2001 and she continued to make her home in Wimbledon.<\/p>\n

Survivors include 3 daughters: \u201cBunny\u201d(Jim) Sherry, Lacey, WA, Anne Marie (Geoff) Lloyd, Wimbledon, ND, and Shelene (Jim) Norwood, Little Falls, MN; a son James (Diane) Samek, Fargo, ND; a sister, Mary Jane Hunnicutt, Rintoul, IL; a brother Jim Clarys, Dickinson, ND; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.\u00a0 She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.<\/p>\n
