\"helphopehealing\"<\/a>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Help for Hope and Healing in Jamestown will host their Second Annual Quarter Craze fundraiser, on September 14, 2016.<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Laurel Haroldson said, the event helps funding and purchasing more gas gift cards for travelers needing cancer care.<\/p>\n

The nonprofit volunteer organization was formed eight years ago, and is an extension of the Jamestown Area Grief Support Team.(JAGST).<\/p>\n

The Quarter Craze fundraiser will be held on Wednesday September 14, 2016, at 5-p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall, at 519 1st Aveneu, South in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Admission is \u00a0$10 to receive an auction paddle and auction number<\/p>\n

The evening starts with \u00a0a social at 5-p.m., with appetizers and shopping with vendors and a raffle of the larger items.<\/p>\n

The auction starts at 6-p.m., until all items are won.<\/p>\n

Also on our show, Beth Dewald pointed out that all auction items are donated, and all the dollars raised go specifically for the purchase of the gas cards.<\/p>\n

Laurel explained that the\u00a0 $10 ticket gets the participants a paddle with a number.\u00a0 Auction items will be announced and described.\u00a0 Those wanting to bid on an items place up to four quarters in the bucket at the table, the number of quarters corresponds to the value of the auction item.<\/p>\n

Then raise the paddle.\u00a0 If the number drawn is the number on the paddle, the individual wins the item.\u00a0 Extra quarters will be available for change.<\/p>\n

Beth pointed out that examples of auction items are: Several Wine Baskets, flower arrangements, gift cards, a Dakota Store Basket, Jamestown Tourism Basket, Thirty One, Napkins, Norwegian Basket, Sunflower Basket, Coffee Baskets, plaques, wool mittens and a scarf.<\/p>\n

Other items include University of Jamestown gear, a Minnesota Vikings BBQ Grilling Set, a Pamper Yourself Basket, embroidered dish towels and more items are being added.<\/p>\n

It was pointed out that Ben Pesek, a franchisee with Snap On Tools, sold pink socks, and requested that the gas gift cards be distributed in his trade area, that includes, Valley City, Oakes, Ellendale, and New Rockford.<\/p>\n

Laurel said that since 2013 there have been over 100 gas gift cards distributed, over all, including 38 each in 2015 and so far in 2016.<\/p>\n

A few tickets remained available at last report, and advance ticket purchases are preferred as 120 tickets are available.<\/p>\n

Tickets are available from committee members:\u00a0 Barb Togstad, Kim Weyer, Mary Klundt, Cindy Willey, Carol Stahlhut, Beth Dewald, and Laurel Haroldson.\u00a0 Call Laurel at 701-269-9543 for tickets and referrals of those in cancer care, needing the gas cards.<\/p>\n

They thank the Knights of Columbus Hall for donating their facility, and appetizers, along with the vendors and those donating auction items.\u00a0 Two Rivers Printing donated the poster and ticket printing.<\/p>\n
