Today\u2019s funds come in addition to more than $37.4 million in funding for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoeven.senate.gov\/news\/news-releases\/hoeven-faa-awards-williston-26-million-for-new-airport\">Williston<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hoeven.senate.gov\/news\/news-releases\/hoeven-announces-more-than-114-million-faa-grant-to-refurbish-bismarck-airport-runway\">Bismarck<\/a> airports that Hoeven announced last week. The total award amounts for the three airports are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Jamestown Airport \u2013 $779,400<\/strong> \u2013 The funds will be used to mitigate the risk of wildlife collisions as identified by a wildlife hazard assessment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Williston Airport \u2013 $1,556,670 in funding today \u2013<\/strong> Combined with last week\u2019s $26 million grant, <strong>total airport funding is $27,556,670<\/strong>. The funds will support the airport\u2019s expansion and relocation project.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Bismarck Airport \u2013 $2,121,363 in funding today \u2013<\/strong> Combined with last week\u2019s $11.5 million grant, <strong>total airport funding is $13,582,856<\/strong>. The funds will be used to replace the airports longest runway, 13\/31, which has reached the end of its useful life.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Hoeven says, \u201cNorth Dakota\u2019s airports are a critical component of the economic health of our communities. Today\u2019s grant for the airport in Jamestown will help keep pilots and passengers safe by protecting aircraft from birds. The funds for the Williston airport will provide additional support for the monumental relocation project they are working on.
