Fischer Multipurpose Room of the library.<\/p>\n<p>Guest speakers Dr. Anthony Dutton (Associate Professor of History at VSCU) and Dr. Luis Da Vinha (Assistant Professor of Political Science Professor at VSCU) will each make presentations.\u00a0 There will time allotted afterward for a moderated open discussion forum.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free and the community is invited to come, discuss, and celebrate our historical legacy at the library.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>The Bill of Rights and You<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Valley City Barnes County Public Library is hosting a new pop-up exhibition from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\/\">National Archives<\/a>.\u00a0<strong><em>The Bill of Rights and You, <\/em><\/strong>commemorates the 225th anniversary of the ratification of this landmark document. <em>The Bill of Rights and You<\/em> spotlights one of the most remarkable periods in American history, explores the origins of the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution (collectively known as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.archives.gov\/exhibits\/charters\/bill_of_rights.html\">Bill of Rights<\/a>), illustrates how each amendment protects U.S. citizens, and looks at how Americans exercise the rights outlined in the amendments. <em>The Bill of Rights and You <\/em>invites visitors to connect directly with the people, places, and events that mark this historic document\u2019s evolution.\u00a0 This exhibit runs through the end of March.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Bill of Rights and You<\/em> co-curator Jennifer Johnson states:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Bill of Rights represents the Founder&#8217;s vision that it would be the people, through votes, that could change the Constitution with enough consensus. This exhibition was developed in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.archives.gov\/amending-america\/\">National Archives\u2019 National Outreach Initiative<\/a> to commemorate the 225<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Bill of Rights.
