\"\"Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Regional Medical Center\u2019s Auxiliary\u2019s recent, first ever Ladies Night raised more than $2,000, benefiting the upcoming JRMC Cancer Center.<\/p>\n

An evening with friends\u00a0made\u00a0the difference in the life of a cancer patient.<\/p>\n

Auxiliary member and former Gift Shoppe manager, Carol Lawrence says, \u201cBattling cancer is a community effort.\u201d\u00a0 JRMC is creating a cancer center\u00a0with eight infusion rooms. The center would be the only one of its kind within 90 miles. At any given time, more than 100 Stutsman County residents are traveling more than 100 miles for chemotherapy care. JRMC\u2019s Foundation hopes to raise $1.5 million for the JRMC Cancer Center.<\/p>\n

JRMC Auxiliary consists of more than 40 volunteers. Since fundraising for the Journey to Oncology campaign began, the Auxiliary has raised more than $40,000,\u00a0 meeting the first Monday of each month.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Regional Medical Center\u2019s Auxiliary is hosting its first ever Ladies Night event on Tuesday, February 28.\u00a0\u00a0 The event includes appetizers, \u201cmock\u201d-tails, door prizes and a clearance sale on Gift Shoppe apparel and accessories.<\/p>\n

Auxiliary member and former Gift Shoppe manager, Carol Lawrence, says, \u201cBattling cancer is a community effort. This event helps raise money for the upcoming Jamestown Regional Medical Cancer Center. It also builds community and strengthens our support systems.\u201d<\/p>\n

JRMC is creating a cancer center with eight infusion rooms. The center would be the only one of its kind within 90 miles. At any given time, more than 100 Stutsman County residents are traveling more than 100 miles for chemotherapy care. Of the $1.5 million JRMC Cancer Center goal, so far, the Foundation has raised $729,000.<\/p>\n
