{"id":118940,"date":"2017-04-28T15:00:37","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T20:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=118940"},"modified":"2017-04-28T16:39:45","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T21:39:45","slug":"former-missile-control-building-total-loss-near-dazey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=118940","title":{"rendered":"2 charged, fire at former missile control building"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DazyNDMissleControl.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-118970\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DazyNDMissleControl-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DazyNDMissleControl-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DazyNDMissleControl-260x175.jpg 260w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/04\/DazyNDMissleControl.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Dazey\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 In connection with a fire set at a former military installation near Dazey on April 3, 2017, a U.S. Air Force Control Center, and burglaries reported in the Dazey and Wimbledon areas, two Wimbledon men face charges.<\/p>\n<p>The site was once used to house a ballistic missile near Dazey.<\/p>\n<p>The Barnes County State\u2019s Attorney\u2019s Office says, Christopher Aaron Kraay and Isaiah Dean Davis of Wimbledon are charge with one Class B felony charge of Arson; four counts of Class C Felony Burglary; 2 counts of Class C Felony Criminal Conspiracy-Theft of Property; and 2 counts Criminal Conspiracy-Theft of Property-A Misdemeanor.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Chief Deputy Don Fiebiger said the two men allegedly pried off a lock to gain entry to the building.<\/p>\n<p>The State Fire Marshall said a flammable liquid was used to start the fire in three separate areas inside the structure.<\/p>\n<p>The building is owned by a private party who used it for storage since purchasing it from the U.S. Government.<\/p>\n<p>The two men are also accused in the burglary of two 4 wheel A-T-V\u2019s stemming from the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Dazey (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 A fire in Dazey Monday morning about 7-a.m., is being investigated, a structure that once\u00a0controlled dozens of missiles during the &#8216;cold war&#8217;, era.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p>WDAY reports that\u00a0 smoke was reported coming\u00a0from of the building a few miles north of Dazey and the individual called the fire department. When crews\u00a0 arrived, the ceiling was on fire, and\u00a0 were able to knock down the flames after about an hour.<\/p>\n<div id=\"article-sidebar-ad\" data-google-query-id=\"CJfortrjidMCFVVIAQod5nsBPQ\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"p402_premium\">\n<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p>The owner says the building, once called\u00a0 the &#8220;November Launch Station,&#8221;\u00a0is likely a total loss.<\/p>\n<p>The Building has been used for other storage purposes since the early 1990&#8217;s when it was decommissioned by the U.S. military.<\/p>\n<p>Dazey Fire Chief Daryl Kunze says the fire is being ruled suspicious since there was no electricity in the building, and only used for storage.<\/p>\n<div id=\"jobsHQ-hotjobs-single-0\" class=\"jobsHQ-hotjobs-single\">The owner says the lock\u00a0on the building was broken Sunday night.<\/div>\n<p>The North Dakota State Fire Marshal is also investigating.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Site near Coopersstown, \u00a0is operated by the state Historical Society, which offers tours.<\/p>\n<p>While this historic building is damaged, the owners say they&#8217;re happy one just like it is still intact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dazey\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 In connection with a fire set at a former military installation near Dazey on April 3, 2017, a U.S. Air Force Control Center, and burglaries reported in the Dazey and Wimbledon areas, two Wimbledon men face charges.
