\"\"<\/a>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi) \u2013 Gov. Doug Burgum Friday appointed Cass County prosecutor Cherie Clark and Devils Lake attorney Michael Hurly to district judgeships, effective August 7, 2017.<\/p>\n

Clark will be chambered in Jamestown in the Southeast Judicial District, replacing retiring Judge John E. Greenwood.<\/p>\n

Hurly will be chambered in Rugby serving the Northeast Judicial District, replacing retiring Judge John C. McClintock Jr.<\/p>\n

Clark <\/a>has served as an assistant Cass County state\u2019s attorney since January 2006, building extensive trial experience in criminal cases and county civil cases. She previously was assistant county attorney in Otter Tail County, Minn., for 3\u00bd years.<\/p>\n

Clark earned her undergraduate degree in 1996 and her law degree in 2000 from the University of South Dakota. She has served as president of the Cass County Bar Association, on the North Dakota Drug Court Professionals Association and on the regional Sexual Assault Response Team and Domestic Abuse Task Force.<\/p>\n

Hurly is currently a partner with Traynor Law Firm in Devils Lake, where he has worked since 2007. He serves as an assistant state\u2019s attorney for Ramsey, Benson and Nelson counties and has served as assistant city attorney and city prosecutor for Devils Lake, as well as city attorney for St. John.<\/p>\n

Hurly earned his undergraduate degree in 2000 from North Dakota State University and his law degree from the University of North Dakota in 2005. He is a certified family law mediator, past president of the Lake Region Bar Association and is licensed to practice on the Spirit Lake and Turtle Mountain Indian reservations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
