No one appeared.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the Public Hearing the City Council\u00a0 approved\u00a0 the special assessments for Seal Coat, Patching, Construction and Reconstruction District #16-41, in the total amount of $2,340,606.43, with the City Share to be $577,322.15, with the balance of $1,763,284.28 to be assessed to benefited properties within the district.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A PUBLIC HEARING was held concerning the special assessment list for Sewer &amp; Water District #16-31 &amp; 16-61.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the Public Hearing the City Council approved the special assessments for Sewer &amp; Water District #16-31 &amp; 16-61, in the total amount of $80,126.92, with the City Share to be $20,031.73, with the balance of $60,095.19 to be assessed to benefited properties within the district.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A PUBLIC HEARING was held concerning the special assessment list for Southwest Water Main Replacement District #16-62. \u00a0No one appeared.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Following the Public Hearing the City Council approved the special assessments for Southwest Water Main Replacement District #16-62, in the total amount of $1,132,630.48, with the City Share to be $283,177.93, with the balance of $849,452.55 to be assessed to benefited properties within the district.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The City Council approved entering into a license agreement with Arvig Enterprises, Inc., to place 10,634 feet of conduit and fiber optic cable within the City right-of-way as specified in the license agreement. The agreement is with Verizon.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement is to match the years for existing utility, agreements for five years, at two and a half percent.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>COMMITTEE REPORTS:<\/p>\n<p>To consider awarding the bid for the purchase of a new 3 CY \u2013 4 Wheel Drive Loader for the Street Department to Titan Machinery in the amount of $78,956.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To consider awarding the bid for the purchase of a new two (2) Stage Snow Blower for the Street Department to, Swanston \u00a0in the amount of $94,900.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ORDINANCES:<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>FIRST READING, <\/strong>Concerning an ordinance to amend and re-enact Section 21-16-04.1(5) to require red reflectors on the front of trailers parked on city streets facing oncoming traffic.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>SECOND READING <\/strong>of an<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong>Ordinance to allow the sale of Growlers in on-sale alcohol establishments, was approved.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>HEARING FROM THE AUDIENCE:<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">The street department will look into graveling a section of roadway, north of the fairgrounds, as requested by a resident.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\" style=\"page-break-before: always;\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">APPOINTMENTS: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Appointed Christina Gillingham to serve as a member of the Fire Code Board of Appeals for a term to expire November 2019. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Appointed Colleen Grenz to serve as a member of the Shade Tree Committee to fill the unexpired term of Liz Smith, April 2018. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBER&#8217;S REPORT: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">Council Member Phillips pointed out the Grand Open for the Hansen Arts Park is August 25, 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>OTHER BUSINESS:<\/p>\n<p>The City Council approved a new agreement with the James River Rodeo Association.<\/p>\n<p>It is a one year agreement, and places responsibilities on the Rodeo Association.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 67 followed by replays.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Council met in Regular Session Monday evening at City Hall.
