(AP) &#8211; North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple sees no need for a new governor&#8217;s mansion, but some lawmakers want to build one.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota House defeated a measure Wednesday that would have authorized the construction of a new governor&#8217;s residence on the state Capitol grounds, along with a so-called executive conference center. The measure authorized $3 million for the new dwelling and allowed another $3 million from &#8220;private donations or other sources.&#8221;\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple says the current residence is &#8220;perfectly adequate.&#8221; The home was completed in 1960 and is an example of prairie style architecture.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A major renovation was completed in 2000.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Lawmakers also defeated a measure in 2011 for new governor&#8217;s home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; BISMARCK, N.D.
