She married Johan Edward Soma on August 14, 1948. Through their union, they were blessed with seven children. Cheryl (Kenneth) Schaffer, LaMoure, ND, John (Vickie), Jamestown, ND, Jerry (Angie), Litchville, ND, Brenda (Carl) Schneider, Cooperstown, ND, Keith, Litchville, ND, Sharla (Marvin) Priewe and Virginia Sarbaum, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Ruth cherished many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
