{"id":135283,"date":"2017-12-21T07:29:26","date_gmt":"2017-12-21T13:29:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=135283"},"modified":"2017-12-28T08:20:31","modified_gmt":"2017-12-28T14:20:31","slug":"high-speed-pursuit-near-jmst-wed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=135283","title":{"rendered":"High Speed pursuit near Jamestown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-132878\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NDHP-blackcar1-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NDHP-blackcar1-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NDHP-blackcar1-260x175.jpg 260w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/NDHP-blackcar1.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that on Wednesday, Dec 20,\u00a0 about 12:17-p.m. a NDHP Trooper attempted to stop a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding, westbound I-94 about 15 miles east of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Captain Bryan Niewind reports, the Silverado fled from the trooper westbound at speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour before exiting I-94 at exit 272 and traveling north on the gravel Barnes County roadway.\u00a0 A short distance north of the exit ramp, the Silverado came to a stop.\u00a0 As the trooper approached the vehicle, the Silverado fled again northbound on the gravel county road.\u00a0 The Silverado fled north three more miles before crossing railroad tracks and coming to a stop near an intersection close to the railroad tracks.<\/p>\n<p>The trooper stopped his patrol car prior to the railroad tracks to await back-up and to observe the driver of the Silverado.\u00a0 Seconds later, the Silverado accelerated rearward at a high rate of speed toward the trooper\u2019s vehicle.\u00a0 Shortly after crossing the tracks, the Silverado veered toward the trooper\u2019s patrol vehicle.\u00a0 The trooper evaded a collision by backing onto a nearby approach.\u00a0 The Silverado slid into the ditch filled with snow and became stuck.<\/p>\n<p>A short time later, the driver of the Silverado was arrested without further incident.\u00a0 The driver was Levi David Thene, 29 YOA, from West Fargo, ND.\u00a0 Thene was charged with the following:\u00a0 Felony Reckless Endangerment and Misdemeanor Fleeing A Police Officer, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Unlawful Display of License Plates.\u00a0 Thene is currently in custody at the Stutsman County Correctional Center.<\/p>\n<p>The NDHP was assisted on scene by deputies from the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office and an officer from the US Fish and Wildlife Service.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports that on Wednesday, Dec 20,\u00a0 about 12:17-p.m. a NDHP Trooper attempted to stop a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado for speeding, westbound I-94 about 15 miles east of Jamestown.
