Warren Elm, age 89, of Valley City, died Sunday, December 24th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.<\/p>\nWarren Elm, age 89, of Valley City, died Sunday, December 24th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.<\/p>\n
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2018 at the Sheyenne Care Center Chapel in Valley City.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held one hour before the service Wednesday afternoon at the Care Center Chapel.<\/p>\n
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.<\/p>\n
Warren LeRoy Elm was born March 29, 1928 to Otto and Clara Elm in Skandia Township. He attended a one-room rural school Skandia Township #60 and went on to Hastings High School and graduated from Litchville High School in 1947.<\/p>\n
Warren helped his father on the farm until entering the US Army in 1951, spending his military career at Fort Rucker, Alabama. He was honorably discharged in 1953.<\/p>\n
Warren worked in electronics in Minneapolis and later did TV repair for Dawkin’s Electric eventually having his own TV repair business in addition to farming.<\/p>\n
On April 20, 1985, he married Margaret Schall at St. Paul, MN and they moved back to his homeplace at Litchville, ND.<\/p>\n
He enjoyed gardening, hunting, trapping and fishing.<\/p>\n
Survivors are a sister, Arlene Simpson (Valley City) and a nephew, Arlee Simpson (Dilworth MN) and neice, Ila Marvel (Bismarck ND).<\/p>\n
He was preceeded in death by his wife, Margaret; a brother, Clayton Elm; a brother-in-law, John Simpson; and his parents.<\/p>\n
