Lois Aase, age 79, of Valley City, ND, died Friday, January 5th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.<\/p>\n
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 11th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Valley City.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Lerud Schuldt Mathias Funeral Home Chapel and one hour before the service at the church on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n
Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery near Valley City in the spring.<\/p>\n
Lois Elaine Knutson, the daughter of Thorvald and Helga (Andreasen) Knutson, was born February 22, 1938 on the family farm near Marion, ND by a midwife.<\/p>\n
Lois grew up on the family farm northwest of Litchville and attended school at Rosebud #72 and Svea rural schools.<\/p>\n
In 1956, after receiving her education, she moved to Valley City.<\/p>\n
Lois started working at F.W. Woolworth department store and worked there for 10 years.<\/p>\n
On November 19, 1960 she married Vernon E. Aase at First Lutheran Church in Valley City.<\/p>\n
She then began working at Drugan’s Super Valu and continued through the store name changes to J&L and Leevers.<\/p>\n
Lois retired after working for the store for 37 years.<\/p>\n
In her retirement she enjoyed going with her husband to flea markets, threshing shows and working on crossword puzzles.<\/p>\n
She also enjoyed gardening, growing flowers, and playing cards.<\/p>\n
Lois was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and the Am Vets Ladies Auxiliary.<\/p>\n
Lois is survived by her husband Vernon, her brother Don Knutson, two sisters-in-law, Doris Aas and Gloria Knutson, all Valley City, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Arlen.<\/p>\n
