Border, No travel lifted"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>No Travel Advisory LIFTED for northeastern North Dakota<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel Alert Remains in Effect for northeastern North Dakota<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>he North Dakota Department of Transportation and North Dakota Highway Patrol have <strong>LIFTED<\/strong> the <strong>No Travel Advisory <\/strong>for the northeastern portion of the state.\u00a0 A <strong>Travel Alert<\/strong> remains in effect for northeastern North Dakota including the cities of Grafton, Michigan, Grand Forks, Hillsboro, and surrounding areas due to blowing snow which is creating drifting on the roadway and reduced visibility.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The NDDOT works hard to keep travelers informed of road conditions. However, the road conditions are not reported 24 hours a day but updated every day from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Central Time, including holidays. It\u2019s important to remember that the conditions may vary from what is being reported.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The three categories are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 TRAVEL ALERT &#8211; Motorists can still travel but may encounter areas of<br \/>\nchallenging winter weather driving conditions on roadways. Motorists should allow<br \/>\nextra time to reach their destination and be alert to conditions that may make<br \/>\ntravel difficult, change rapidly, or cause travel delays. A TRAVEL ALERT has the<br \/>\npotential to change to a NO TRAVEL ADVISED if conditions deteriorate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 NO TRAVEL ADVISED &#8211; Motorists should not travel due to hazardous conditions<br \/>\nwhich may make it unsafe to travel. Snowplows may be pulled from the roads during<br \/>\nsevere conditions. Motorists should take NO TRAVEL ADVISED seriously as those<br \/>\nmotorists who choose to travel at their own risk may become stranded and emergency<br \/>\nresponders may not be able to reach them safely. A NO TRAVEL ADVISED has the<br \/>\npotential to change to a ROAD CLOSED OR BLOCKED if conditions deteriorate.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ROAD CLOSED OR BLOCKED &#8211; Motorists are not allowed to travel on a closed road<br \/>\ndue to life threatening conditions. The road may be impassible or blocked. Motorists<br \/>\nwho drive past a road closure device may be fined up to $250.<br \/>\nPlease be advised that road condition information on 511 and the travel map is<br \/>\nupdated daily from 5 a.m. until 10 p.m. CDT. The road report is based upon the<br \/>\ninformation available to the NDDOT at the time of preparation and is provided solely<br \/>\nas a public service.
