{"id":14363,"date":"2013-03-11T07:54:21","date_gmt":"2013-03-11T12:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=14363"},"modified":"2013-03-11T07:54:21","modified_gmt":"2013-03-11T12:54:21","slug":"duane-anderson-schultz-mar-7-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=14363","title":{"rendered":"Duane Anderson Schultz &#8211; Mar 7, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Duane Anderson Schultz, 86, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Sanford in Fargo, surrounded by his family.<br \/>\nDuane Anderson Schultz was born August 17, 1926 at Detroit, MI, the son of Adolph Berg and Anna Marie (Anderson) Schultz. \u00a0The family relocated to North Dakota when Duane was 2 years old. \u00a0He grew up on a farm located between Kathryn and Fort Ransom, ND. \u00a0He attended school in Kathryn, graduating from Kathryn High School in 1944. \u00a0In October of that year he entered the US Army and in 1947, transferred to the US Air Force. \u00a0During his military career he was rated as a Liaison Pilot and flew clandestine and rescue missions during WWII, the Korean Conflict, and the Cold War. \u00a0Military awards and decorations include: the Bronze Star Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, DSM (GBr), Order of the Red Star 2nd Class (USSR) , DFC (GBr), and Fouraguerre (Fr). \u00a0He married Dorothy May Dalton on October 6, 1948 in Warrington, England; she died on January 18, 1991. \u00a0He retired from the Air Force in April of 1966 with the rank of CWO-3 and he was recalled for a short special mission in 1967. \u00a0He then worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier for 17 years until retirement. \u00a0On October 23, 2003, he married his high school sweetheart, Jessie Claire Hanson Hinger at Jamestown and they made their home in Jamestown.<br \/>\nSurvivors include his wife, Jessie; two sons, Russell (Tamera), Sherman, TX; Roger (Terri), Plano, TX; four stepsons, William (Isabel), Antioch, TN; James (Jan) , Jamestown; Darrell (Amy) , Fargo, ND; Randall (Elisa), Hendersonville, TN; 5 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; and special friends, Carol and Bill Yarnall, Albuquerque, NM,<br \/>\nHe was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Anna Marie; first wife, Dorothy; daughter, Lisa Ruggs; son, Gary Schultz.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nMemorial Service:<\/strong> 11:30 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Preston Lutheran Church, 5 miles north of Fort Ransom, ND.<br \/>\n<strong>Visitation:<\/strong> None scheduled. \u00a0Arrangements by Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, Jamestown.<br \/>\n<strong>Prayer Service:<\/strong> 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, 2013 at the 7th Day Adventist Church, Jamestown.<br \/>\n<strong>Interment:<\/strong> New Home 7th Day Adventist Cemetery, at a later date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Duane Anderson Schultz, 86, of Jamestown, ND, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Sanford in Fargo, surrounded by his family.
