{"id":145130,"date":"2018-05-16T21:00:45","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T02:00:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=145130"},"modified":"2018-05-17T07:47:17","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T12:47:17","slug":"skywest-jets-to-continue-serving-jamestown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=145130","title":{"rendered":"SkyWest jets to continue serving Jamestown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-49138\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/SkywestUnited2-300x200.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/SkywestUnited2-300x200.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/SkywestUnited2-261x175.png 261w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/SkywestUnited2.png 448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Regional Airport will continue to have air service from the SkyWest\/United Express carrier for the next two years.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Department of Transportation this week, awarded the Essential Air Service contract to the airline.<\/p>\n<p>Officials report the terms of the agreement includes\u2026 are SkyWest\/United Express still using the 50-set jets, and provide 12 flights a week between \u00a0Jamestown and Denver.<\/p>\n<p>The contract calls for the airline to annually, receive a $2.69 million subsidy, a decrease from the current agreement which has a subsidy of $2.79 million<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown Regional Airport Director, Sam Seafeldt says, SkyWest agreed to take less of a subsidy as passenger boarding have substantially improved since the inception of \u00a0SkyWest\/United Express service \u00a0initiated in June of 2014.<\/p>\n<p>SkyWest will also provide \u00a0$20,000 annually for marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Aeronautics Commission reports that Jamestown Regional Airport\u2019s boardings in April this year were at\u00a0 877 up just under one percent from the April 2017 boardings at 869.<\/p>\n<p>Through April this year Jamestown boarded 3,861 passengers, compared to 4,196 through April 2017, down nearly eight percent.<\/p>\n<p>The recent high number of boardings was the 2017 numbers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Regional Airport will continue to have air service from the SkyWest\/United Express carrier for the next two years.
