\"\"REGISTRATION: \u00a0<\/strong>All new students<\/u> to the school district may register by calling at the District Office at 252-1950 for an appointment. \u00a0Hours for registration are 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

OPENING DAY OF SCHOOL:<\/strong> Jamestown Public Schools will open with full sessions Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the following times. Elementary grades 1-5 begins at 8:30 AM, Grades 6-8 begins at 8:30 AM and Grades 9-12 at 8:47 AM. Kindergarten students will be assessed on August 23rd<\/sup> and 24th<\/sup> and a schedule will be sent to parents, the first day of school for kindergarten students will be August 27th<\/sup> .\u00a0 ALL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS with an \u201cearly bird\u201d 7:50 AM class either at the High School or the Career and Technology Center will report to their homerooms at the High School at 8:47 AM on the first day of school.<\/p>\n

Dismissal time at the High School is 3:05 PM, the Middle School at 3:10 PM and the elementary schools will be dismissed at 3:00 PM.\u00a0 It is requested that the parents who have children who will be attending kindergarten, transport their children the first 2 days of school so that necessary arrangements can be made for the students requesting transportation service.<\/p>\n

MIDDLE SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULES: <\/strong>The following dates have been set aside for students to pick up their schedules:<\/p>\n

Wednesday, August 15th<\/sup> – Grades 6, 7, and 8 at the Middle School, Grades 10 and 12 at the High School<\/p>\n

Thursday, August 16th<\/sup> – Grades 6, 7, and 8 at the Middle School, Grades 9 and 11 at the High School<\/p>\n

All consumable materials are purchased by the patrons.\u00a0 Textbooks for grades K-12 will be distributed in the students\u2019 regular classroom the first day of school.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

FEES: <\/strong>Registration for Bus Service, Food Service, and Activity fees and tickets will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, August 15th <\/sup>and Thursday, August 16th<\/sup> in the Middle School Cafeteria, 203 2nd<\/sup> Avenue SE, and in the High School Commons area at 1509 10th<\/sup> Ave NE.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

TRANSPORTATION:<\/strong> Bus service is provided for the rural public school area students by the school district at no cost.<\/p>\n

Private school students may be transported if space is available.\u00a0 When available, intracity transportation is limited to those students who live 10 blocks or more from school. The cost for a family is $135.00 per semester per child for the first 2 children, $120.00 per semester for each additional family member attending school in grades K-12. \u00a0RURAL<\/strong> students wishing transportation service must<\/u> also register on the above dates.<\/p>\n

SCHOOL LUNCH:<\/strong> School lunches and breakfasts are available for all students in Jamestown Public Schools.\u00a0 Your family might be eligible for free or reduced meal prices.\u00a0 The School District encourages all families to complete the free or reduced meal application which is mailed to each family the second week of August.\u00a0 If you do not receive an application, please call Shelley Mack, Food Service Director, 952-3015.\u00a0 The elementary student cost is $2.90 per day, the Middle School student cost is $2.95 per day and the High School student cost is $3.00 per day.\u00a0 The adult cost is $365 per day.<\/p>\n

Breakfast programs are available at all schools.\u00a0 The elementary cost is $1.70 per day. The Middle School and High School cost is $1.85 per day. The adult cost is $2.40 per day. The School Lunch program is supported by the charge made to patrons for meals and by the subsidy received from Federal sources through the State Lunch Program<\/p>\n
