{"id":155007,"date":"2018-10-07T11:41:02","date_gmt":"2018-10-07T16:41:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=155007"},"modified":"2018-10-10T07:57:06","modified_gmt":"2018-10-10T12:57:06","slug":"no-injuries-man-arrested-jamestown-home-invasion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=155007","title":{"rendered":"No injuries, man arrested, Jamestown home invasion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/UrieMicheal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-155040\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/UrieMicheal-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/UrieMicheal-300x202.jpg 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/UrieMicheal-260x175.jpg 260w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/10\/UrieMicheal.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Update&#8230;.Urie was released from custody on his own recognizance.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Charges are pending against a Minnesota man as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wday.com\/news\/4510148-intruder-arrested-after-barricading-himself-inside-jamestown-home\">Jamestown Police investigate a home invasion early Sunday morning.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Assistant Police Chief, Major Justin Blinsky reports, 20 year old Chase Michael Urie from Proctor, Minnesota, with a temporary Jamestown address, was seen inside the home on a home surveillance camera by the home owner, who was away, as the residence was occupied by other family members.<\/p>\n<p>When the homeowner\u00a0arrived at\u00a0the residence, he discovered\u00a0two broken door frames.<\/p>\n<p>When police arrived at the home at 4:46-a.m., authorities \u00a0saw Urie in the residence and failed to follow police commands to leave and retreated further into the home.\u00a0 James Valley Special Operations Team\u00a0arrived\u00a0 also talking him, in an effort\u00a0to leave the home.\u00a0 At the time, it was not known if the intruder was armed or what his intentions were.<\/p>\n<p>Then, at\u00a0\u00a07:44 a.m. the Jamestown K-9 Unit\u00a0 &#8220;Odin,&#8221; assisted in the search of the residence.<\/p>\n<p>At 8:01 a.m.\u00a0he was taken into custody, and was remanded to the Stutsman County Correctional Center, awaiting formal charges.<\/p>\n<p>According to the jail inmate roster, he faces charges of\u00a0felony criminal trespass, criminal mischief and consumption of alcohol by a minor.<\/p>\n<p>Bond was set at $1,000.<\/p>\n<p>Blinsky\u00a0reports that\u00a0\u00a0there were no injuries, adding\u00a0traffic was blocked\u00a0 off in a two-block radius\u00a0of the house during the incident,\u00a0for\u00a0around an\u00a0 hour.<\/p>\n<p>The homeowners are not being identified and have chosen to invoke their rights under Marsy&#8217;s Law.<\/p>\n<p>The incident remains under investigation by the Jamestown Police Department.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"node-body\">\u00a0Police Department news release&#8230;.<\/div>\n<div id=\"second-mobile-ad\" class=\"mobile-ad\">\u00a0(Jamestown, ND) On October 7, 2018, at 0443 hrs., the Jamestown Police Department was dispatched to 510 7 Ave NW, on a 911 call of an unknown intruder inside a residence. The caller was identified as the owner of the residence. The homeowners were not inside that residence at the time, but had been notified by a surveillance system that there was an intruder inside the residence. However, there was a family member inside the residence, at the time of this incident.<br \/>\nThe homeowners proceeded to the residence and found 2 broken door frames into the residence. The homeowners were able to get their family member out of the residence, before police arrived.<br \/>\nAt approximately 0446 hrs., Jamestown Police Officers arrived on scene. As they approached the house, they were met by a suspect still inside the residence. They gave commands for the suspect to exit the house, but the suspect retreated back into the house and appeared to barricade himself out of view of officers. Several attempts were made to convince the suspect to exit the house, but the suspect did not comply with the officer\u2019s orders. At the time, it was not known if the intruder was armed or what his intentions were.<br \/>\nThe James-Valley Special Operations team, which is a regional response team; comprised of members from the Jamestown Police Department, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, Valley City Police Department, and Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office; were summoned to the scene, to assist in the safe apprehension of the suspect.<br \/>\nAt approximately 0744hrs., after several more attempts were made to convince the suspect to exit the residence voluntarily, the James-Valley Special Operations Team made entry into the residence. The Special Operations Team utilized the assistance of Jamestown Police K-9 \u201cOdin\u201d, during the search of the residence.<br \/>\nAt 0801 hrs., Team members made contact with the male intruder suspect, inside one of the rooms of the residence. The male suspect was taken into custody a short time later.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The male suspect has been identified as 20 year old Chase Michael Urie, of Proctor, MN. Urie also temporarily resides in Jamestown, ND. Urie has been arrested on suspicion of Felony Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief, and Consumption of Alcoholic Beverages by a Minor. Urie was transported to Stutsman County Corrections, to await formal charges.<br \/>\nThe homeowners or occupant of this incident are not being identified, as they have invoked their rights, under Marsy\u2019s Law. There were no injuries during this incident. Traffic was diverted for an approximate 2 block radius for approximately 1 hour.
