Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Following Wednesday’s recount and General election vote canvass, Ramone Gumke won a county commission seat in the November General election.<\/p>\n

The final official vote was Gumke 3992 votes the third top vote getter, Mark McPherson with 3975 votes.<\/p>\n

Before the recount:\u00a0 Gumke 3998, McPherson\u00a0 3980 votes.<\/p>\n

Three seats were up for election.<\/p>\n

Gumke will take the oath of office at the December 1, county commission meeting.<\/p>\n

Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The November 6th General Election canvass was held on Tuesday, November 13th, and officials report a recount is in order between Stutsman County Commission candidates, Ramone Gumke, and Mark McPherson.<\/p>\n

The certified election results show Gumke with 3,998<\/strong> votes, and McPherson with 3,980<\/strong> votes.\u00a0 The vote difference automatically triggers a recount, with the 24 vote difference, less than 0.5 percent.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\"\"The recount will be held on Wednesday November 14, at 8-a.m., at the Stutsman County Courthouse, when election ballots are checked for proper initialing, and to confirm under votes or over votes are correctly counted.<\/div>\n
The Recount Board is tentatively scheduled to meet at 4:00 p.m. to certify the recount results.\u00a0 All meetings set for the Courthouse Whitney Room.<\/div>\n
Stutsman County Auditor\/COO Nicole Meland says the process is expected to be finished by 8-p.m., Wednesday.<\/div>\n

With three seats open on the commission, the top three vote- getters in the election were Dennis Ova, Steve Cichos and Ramone Gumke.<\/div>\n
Followed by Mark McPherson, Craig Neys and Nellie Degen.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Dale Marks did not seek re-election.<\/div>\n
11 absentee ballots were approved that were postmarked before the\u00a0 November 6 election arriving\u00a0 at the courthouse either onElection Day or after, or required verification of the voter’s signature.<\/div>\n
