{"id":158897,"date":"2018-11-29T06:10:34","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T12:10:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=158897"},"modified":"2018-11-29T07:24:07","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T13:24:07","slug":"report-linvold-died-of-a-broken-neck","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=158897","title":{"rendered":"Report:  Lindvold died of a broken neck"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"dateline\">Valley City\u00a0 \u00a0(Valley News Live)<strong>\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong>The attorney for the family of <\/span>\u00a0Warren Lindvold says that they&#8217;re doing okay, but this is a horrible injustice.\u00a0 \u00a0 Cash Aaland is representing Lindvold&#8217;s family after the 72-year-old died earlier this year after being arrested by the Valley City Police Department and held in the Barnes County Correctional Center.<\/p>\n<div id=\"storyThumb\" class=\"pull-right col-xs-24 col-sm-10 col-md-12 col-lg-12\">\u00a0In a memo released Wednesday, the State&#8217;s Attorney&#8217;s Office says law enforcement isn&#8217;t responsible for Lindvold&#8217;s death, but Aaland disagrees. He says, &#8220;We believe the conduct of the Valley City Police Department \u2013 the officers involved \u2013 and the Barnes County Jail \u2013 is reckless, horrible, it involved the use of excess force. But we were not at all confident there would be criminal charges.&#8221;<\/div>\n<p>An autopsy finds Lindvold died of a broken neck. His chronic arthritis, which didn&#8217;t allow him to turn his neck, is also listed as a significant contributing factor.
