\"\"<\/a>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Apr 1, 2013) — The Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation (JSDC) has given Cenex Harvest States, Incorporated (CHS) more time to research building the fertilizer plant planned for the Spiritwood Energy Park.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday\u2019s (Apr 3, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, JSDC\u2019s Marketing\/Workforce Developer, Holly Miller said, the “pre-feed study,” was to expire on March 31, 2013, and has been extended to April 30, as plans are proceeding.<\/p>\n

The pre-feed study determines if operational raw materials will be available at the Spiritwood location, including water from sources, and increased capacity to provide natural gas to the Spiritwood Energy Park.<\/p>\n

In September of 2012 at a gathering in Bismarck, with Governor Dalrymple and other officials the announcement was made to build the $1.2 billion plant in the Spiritwood Energy Park.<\/p>\n

The plant will use natural gas from North Dakota\u2019s Oil Patch to produce anhydrous ammonia fertilizer.<\/p>\n

CHS has options to purchase land in Spiritwood Energy Park, and has been given time to complete its engineering and business research.<\/p>\n

Ms. Miller also said the JSDC\u2019s web site now has a tab with the SRF Consulting, draft land use plan.<\/p>\n

An open house with SRF will be Thursday April 4, 2013, from 3-p.m., to 7-p.m., at the Quality Inn & Suites in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The JSDC’s news release states:<\/p>\n

“The Jamestown\/Stutsman Development Corporation is currently involved in a Growth Management Plan for the City of Jamestown. This planning process includes a future land use plan which defines growth areas for the City of Jamestown and its two-mile Extraterritorial Area. Once adopted, the future land use plan will serve as a planning tool for the city and does not call for the immediate change in land use or zoning. Existing development that may be designated as a different land use in the future land use plan will be allowed to continue in its current use and zoning district for an indefinite amount of time or at such time that a zone change is requested. At a time in which the property owner wishes to change the zoning or land use of a property, the proposed change must comply with the future land use plan. The land use plan that will be presented at the April 4th Open House is currently in draft form and is subject to change following additional public input.”<\/p>\n

The JSDC will be represented at the Medina Ag Show on Saturday April 6, 2013.<\/p>\n

The JSDC\u2019s Annual Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 6-p.m., at the Quality Inn & Suites in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Included in the meeting will be the “Growing” Jamestown\/Stutsman County Awards, the 2012 Annual Report, and the 2012, JSDC Year in Review Report.<\/p>\n
