{"id":162836,"date":"2019-01-23T14:28:45","date_gmt":"2019-01-23T20:28:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=162836"},"modified":"2019-01-24T15:14:09","modified_gmt":"2019-01-24T21:14:09","slug":"marvin-bubbles-lorig-jan-23-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=162836","title":{"rendered":"Marvin &#8220;Bubbles&#8221; Lorig &#8211; Jan 23, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node-body\">\n<p>Marvin \u201cBubbles\u201d Lorig passed away peacefully the morning of January 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND.<\/p>\n<div class=\"obit-primary\">\n<article class=\"obituary\">\n<section id=\"obit-text\" class=\"obit-text text-fade\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marvin Leroy Lorig was born July 19, 1934 in Jamestown, ND.\u00a0 He attended school in Jamestown and graduated in May of 1952.\u00a0 Marvin served in the US Marine Corp from November 1953 to November 1956 as a Corporal.\u00a0 He was stationed in South Korea following the Korean War.\u00a0 He was released from active duty in November 1956 and transferred to the Marine Corp Reserve until November 1961.\u00a0 During his service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal (1<sup>st<\/sup> award USMC).<\/p>\n<p>Marvin also attended the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND.\u00a0 He graduated with a business degree in May 1960.<\/p>\n<p>Marvin was married to Mavis Dockter and lived in the Jamestown area for most of his life.\u00a0 He held various job positions.\u00a0 His last position being that of a machinist for Western Gear.\u00a0 He retired from that position at the same location with the company now being called Lucas Western.<\/p>\n<p>Marvin enjoyed playing both fast and slow pitch softball.\u00a0 He also bowled on various leagues.\u00a0 He was a hunter and enjoyed attending various hunting banquets with his buddies.<\/p>\n<p>Marvin is survived by his five children; Pamela Wason, Mary (John) Newman, Tina (Jeff) Reimers, Jon (Jane) Lorig, Heather (Chad) Elhard; grandchildren Austin, Leah, Shawn, Tiffany, Jade, Alicia, Rishi, Rayann, Jasmine, Jakob, Ian, Max and two great-grandchildren.\u00a0 He was preceded in death by his father Marcel Lorig, mother Gertrude Lorig and his sister Joanne Job.<\/p>\n<p>Special thanks to his wonderful care givers at Ave Maria Village Nursing Home.<\/p>\n<p>Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Monday, January 28, 2019 at Good Shepherd Chapel, Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND with Deacon Ken Votava officiating.\u00a0 Interment will take place in the spring of 2019 at Calvary Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Williams Funeral Home in care of arrangements<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"node-body\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Marvin \u201cBubbles\u201d Lorig passed away peacefully the morning of January 23rd, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Marvin Leroy Lorig was born July 19, 1934 in Jamestown, ND.\u00a0 He attended school in Jamestown and graduated in May of 1952.\u00a0 Marvin served in the US Marine Corp from November [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":162974,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[26],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-162836","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-obits"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/162836","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/3"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=162836"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/162836\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":162975,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/162836\/revisions\/162975"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/media\/162974"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=162836"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=162836"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=162836"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
