Ruth Venhuizen, age 81, of Valley City, ND, died Monday, January 28th at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.<\/p>\n
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 1st at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and one hour before the service all at the funeral home chapel.<\/p>\n
A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.<\/p>\n
Interment will be in Prairie View Cemetery near Wimbledon, ND.<\/p>\n
Ruth Helen Vos, the daughter of Ernest and Gertrude (Wiebenga) Vos, was born November 18, 1937 in Morrison, IL.<\/p>\n
Ruth grew up and attended school in Morrison, IL and graduated from Morrison High School.<\/p>\n
On November 12, 1965 she married Eugene Venhuizen in Morrison.<\/p>\n
In 1966, the couple moved to Hannaford, ND where they farmed until their retirement in 1989.<\/p>\n
The couple moved to Valley City, ND in 1999 where Eugene passed away later that same year.<\/p>\n
Ruth became a resident of the Sheyenne Care Center in 2016.<\/p>\n
She loved to spend time with her family and friends and was great at making baked goods.<\/p>\n
Ruth is survived by her two sons, Robert (Vickie) Venhuizen, Tea, SD and Mike Venhuizen, Valley City, ND; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Derek, Brandon and Kyle Venhuizen, all Tea, SD; numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers William and Richard Vos.<\/p>\n
