Gertrude Ann Walker, 83, Valley City, ND passed away at Mercy Hospital in Valley City on February 10, 2019.<\/p>\n
A memorial service will be held at the Lerud Mathias Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, February 14, 2019 beginning at 2PM.<\/p>\n
She will be buried at the ND Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND later in the spring.<\/p>\n
Gertrude Ann is the daughter of Herbert and Aleda (Kuhn) Mahler.<\/p>\n
She was born and raised in Bottineau, ND.<\/p>\n
She graduated from Bottineau High School and St. Andrew’s School of Nursing.<\/p>\n
She worked for many years in the nursing profession.<\/p>\n
In July 1957, she married Byron Erickson who passed away in May 1960. She married William K. Walker in June 1961 and were married until Bill passed away in June 2008.<\/p>\n
She is survived by her sons, Todd (Elizabeth), Watertown, SD, James (Denise), Papillion, NE, and R. Michael (Jill), Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kathleen, Rebecca, Jacob and Andrew; one sister, Laura Erickson, Maddock, ND; one brother, Ralph (Bernadette) Mahler, Fargo, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Aleda Mahler; brothers, Lawrence and Myron Mahler; a sister, Jeannette Mears; and her son Steven Walker.<\/p>\n
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the ND Veterans Cemetery (1825 46thSt.; Mandan, ND 58554).<\/p>\n
