Peter Richman, age 78, of Valley City, ND, died Saturday, March 2nd at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City.<\/p>\n

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 8th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Valley City.<\/p>\n

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 7th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and one hour before the Mass on Friday morning.<\/p>\n

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the church.<\/p>\n

Interment will be in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Oriska, ND in the spring.<\/p>\n

Peter was born February 3, 1941, in Valley City, ND, the third child born to Elmer & Agnes (Corby) Richman.<\/p>\n

Peter was baptized & confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tower City.<\/p>\n

He graduated from Tower City high school in 1959.<\/p>\n

He attended NDAC in Fargo (now known as NDSU) where he was a member of the Farm House Fraternity.<\/p>\n

Peter married Karen Lang on August 21, 1965 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Oriska. Peter and Karen farmed in the Tower City and Oriska area.<\/p>\n

Peter cultivated many friendships as he served as a Springvale Township officer, served as member of TC Community Club and Horse Pull, and enjoyed regular morning coffee at the Tower City Cafe.<\/p>\n

Peter retired in 2002, and moved to Valley City in 2009. Peter moved to the Sheyenne Care Center 2015 as Huntington’s Disease continued to cause an aggressive decline in his cognitive and physical abilities.<\/p>\n

Peter demonstrated an attitude of acceptance for HD, often trying to educate his caregivers about his disease and its history in his family.<\/p>\n

The staff’s compassion and professionalism were much appreciated by the family.<\/p>\n

Surviving to mourn his death are his wife Karen, his children; Nathan (Anita Benson) of Janesville, MN, Kirsten (Roger) Huschka of Valley City, ND, and Rachel (John) Craig of Virginia Beach VA, four siblings;<\/p>\n

Liane (Richard) Denton, Douglas (Janice) Richman, Claudia (David) Nelson, and Kenneth (Linda) Richman.<\/p>\n

Memorials preferred to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America, St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Oriska, or your favorite charity.<\/p>\n
