The Legend Award recognizes employees who exceed expectations and make THE difference in the lives of those they serve.<\/p>\n<p>JRMC Foundation Office Coordinator, Penny Holland, and Nutrition Services Aide, Jewel Wolhart, nominated Hartman because of her compassionate heart for helping fellow coworkers, patients and guests.<\/p>\n<p>Holland and Wolhart wrote in their nomination. \u201cElayne Hartman truly makes THE difference for her JRMC family.\u00a0 Hartman recently helped Wolhart\u2019s granddaughter who suffered extensive injuries after a motor vehicle accident last fall. Because of the injuries, her time spent in school is limited. Hartman wanted to find a way to get a laptop donated so Wolhart\u2019s granddaughter could communicate with her teacher and stay current on homework.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hartman joined the JRMC team in 2011 and resides in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Holland said \u201cBecause of Hartman\u2019s initiative, United Way donated a laptop to Wolhart\u2019s granddaughter.\u00a0 And, an additional grant was awarded form the Employee Support Fund at JRMC. This grant helped purchase the software necessary to communicate with the school.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>JRMC\u2019s 350 employees cast anonymous votes to select the Legend Award winner.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the Legend Award is to inspire, motivate and capture the moments that define JRMC. The goal is to help employees and volunteers connect to the sense of purpose that brought them to the organization. This award is for employees who\u2019ve made extreme efforts to benefit their patients and colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>JRMC President &amp; CEO, Mike Delfs, \u201cThe nominations inspire staff members to continually be the best, exceed expectations and make THE difference in the lives of those we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Once nominated, both JRMC administration and employees voted on their top nominees and their stories.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Operating Officer Ricki Ramlo, says \u201cWe are grateful for our employees\u2019 commitment to each other, patients and our community. Elayne is a treasured employee and great example of THE difference our employees make in the lives of those we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Legend Award first began in 2012.
