{"id":168712,"date":"2019-04-02T10:15:06","date_gmt":"2019-04-02T15:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=168712"},"modified":"2019-04-02T11:04:12","modified_gmt":"2019-04-02T16:04:12","slug":"tourism-outlines-escape-room-lamour-walking-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=168712","title":{"rendered":"Escape Room, L&#8217;Amour Walking Tour outlined"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Tourism is working with the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, Committee, in developing an \u201cEscape Room,\u201d in the basement at the location.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Tourism Director, Searle Swedlund said, that Escape Rooms are popular and another means of visiting the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, and other historical areas of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Buffalo-City-Escape-2205622672995914\/\">Escape Room<\/a> is being planned at the old sheriff\u2019s apartment and jail cell adjacent to the 1883 Courthouse.<\/p>\n<p>The Escape Room game, is where players compete against each other solving a series of puzzles that will lead to freedom and occasionally, prizes. Jamestown Tourism is interested in supporting starting a game at the courthouse that would then be operated the courthouse staff.<\/p>\n<p>The game requires a space, to hold it, along with a book of clues, technical document, and could consist of several puzzles, for possible multiple participating groups.<\/p>\n<p>Individuals acting as historical characters could be included.<\/p>\n<p>Searle also pointed out that another Escape Room is in development in the Basement of Meidinger Square in Downtown Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>On another topics Searle pointed to the success of the recent NAIA Women\u2019s National Wrestling Tournament held at the University of Jamestown Campus, along with the recent Runnin O\u2019 the Green in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-99065\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/LouisLAmour-300x202.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/LouisLAmour-300x202.png 300w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/LouisLAmour-260x175.png 260w, http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/LouisLAmour.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>He added that the new Tourism Guide Book has been published and is now available, along with the new Louis L\u2019Amour Walking Tour pamphlet, showing where you can visit\u00a0 sites and places of Louis L\u2019Amour\u2019s youth, including Historic Franklin School, along with Louis L\u2019Amour\u2019s Home Site, located across from City Hall. \u00a0Also included is the Alfred Dickey Public Library, where inside, is the exhibit depicting Louis\u2019s life as a youth in Jamestown, his family and his professional career.\u00a0 The exhibit is a 30 minute self-guided tour.<\/p>\n<p>Sites on the walking tour include, the present Gladstone Inn location, and the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, and First United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n<p>For more information contact Jamestown Tourism at 701-251-9145, on line <a href=\"http:\/\/www.discoverjamestownnd.com\">www.discoverjamestownnd.com<\/a>, E-Mail info@discoverjamestownnd.com<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown (CSi)\u00a0 Jamestown Tourism is working with the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse, Committee, in developing an \u201cEscape Room,\u201d in the basement at the location.
