Omaha\u00a0 – \u00a0 (USACE)\u00a0 – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that inflows to Jamestown Reservoir, due to snowmelt, have remained higher than expected. As a result, reservoir water releases have increased to 600 cubic-feet-per-second on Monday April 22, 2019, in order to evacuate flood storage with the goal of meeting the June 1 target evacuation date.<\/p>\n
Pipestem Reservoir is currently at a pool elevation 1467.9 feet which is approximately 30% of the reservoir’s capacity.\u00a0 The release prior to Monday was 10 cfs. \u00a0Pipestem Dam continues to rise as it stores snowmelt runoff.\u00a0 Ice is out at the reservoir as of Monday afternoon, and releases were being shut down to 0 cfs \u00a0on Monday.\u00a0 The combined release will be 600 cfs after the releases are shut to 0 at Pipestem.<\/p>\n
The Corps of Engineers does not expect combined releases to exceed 750 cfs.<\/p>\n
