She claims she didn&#8217;t hear about it until the end of the school day.<\/p>\n<p>Now, she wants something done to change within the district.<\/p>\n<p>She reached out to Valley News Live\u2019s Whistleblower Hotline.<\/p>\n<p>Washington Elementary School student, Kyler Smith says, he was hit on the back of the head, on the way to school one morning.<\/p>\n<p>Amber Smith tells the T.V. station that her son \u00a0Kyler was riding the school bus to Washington Elementary.<\/p>\n<p>She says two kids decided to change seats on the bus. But that&#8217;s when Smith says the driver mistook her son, who she claims wasn&#8217;t doing anything, for one of the kids changing seats.<\/p>\n<p>Amber says &#8220;The bus driver smacked my son in the back of the head pretty hard,&#8221; says Jamestown Mother.<\/p>\n<p>She says, she didn&#8217;t hear anything from the school, adding that \u00a0she found out about it through her daughter when her kids got home.<\/p>\n<p>That prompted the school district and the bus company, Dietrich, to investigate. First, the driver was suspended. Then shortly after, the bus driver as they put it, was let go.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s \u00a0a new a bus driver now on his route.<\/p>\n<p>She says school Superintendent \u00a0Robert Lech apologized to her and she&#8217;s grateful for that. But now she says if something like this ever happens again to her child, she wants to know.<\/p>\n<p>An official with the Jamestown Police Department tells KVLY that \u00a0they investigated the incident and it\u2019s now been passed over to the State&#8217;s Attorney office.
