(AP) &#8211; Fargo police are warning residents about a telephone scam with callers portraying themselves as representing &#8220;Publisher&#8217;s Clearing House&#8221; and telling people they&#8217;ve won an $800,000 prize.<\/p>\n<p>The caller asks the supposed winners to provide them with a prepaid credit card in the amount of $100 to $150 in order to facilitate the delivery of the prize. Variations of the scam include an additional prize of a new car or other enticements.<\/p>\n<p>Police say that legitimate lotteries and sweepstakes do not require winners to provide payment in order to receive winnings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FARGO, N.D.
