{"id":173787,"date":"2019-06-13T18:40:00","date_gmt":"2019-06-13T23:40:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=173787"},"modified":"2019-06-15T19:44:22","modified_gmt":"2019-06-16T00:44:22","slug":"bertha-roemmich-june-13-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=173787","title":{"rendered":"Bertha Roemmich &#8211; June 13, 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"node-body\"><\/div>\n<div>Bertha Roemmich, 98, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Tappen, ND, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"parallax\">\n<div class=\"contain\">\n<article class=\"obituary\">\n<section id=\"obit-text\" class=\"obit-text text-fade\">Bertha was born January 21, 1921, at Tappen, the daughter of Simon and Katarina (Mittleider) Pfaff.\u00a0 She attended country school in the Tappen area and grew up on the family farm.\u00a0 She learned a strong work ethic at a young age, which she carried throughout her life.\u00a0 Bertha married Emil R. Roemmich on October 8, 1940 in Steele, ND.\u00a0 They live on farms in the Tappen area and Bertha cooked for the Tappen Public School.\u00a0 They moved into Tappen and later to Jamestown where she worked for Hi-Acres Manor and the Gladstone. She enjoyed baking and reading.Bertha was a member of St. John\u2019s Evangelical Church and St. John\u2019s Evangelical Women in Tappen, and later St. Paul\u2019s United Methodist Church, Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Bertha is survived by three sons, Thilmer (Susan) Roemmich, Jamestown, Darold (Lenora) Roemmich, Jamestown, and Marvin (Karen) Roemmich, Eldridge, ND; daughter, Violet Moreland, Jamestown, and Viona (David) Gienger, Jamestown; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marcy Pfaff.<\/p>\n<p>She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Jake, John, Simon Jr., David, Bart, and Elmer; sisters, Mary and Esther; and great-grandson, J.D.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Visitation: <\/strong>1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer Service:<\/strong> 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 17, 2019 at Eddy Funeral Home.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bertha Roemmich, 98, of Jamestown, ND, formerly of Tappen, ND, passed away Thursday morning, June 13, 2019 at Ave Maria Village, Jamestown.
