NSAA Football Defensive Player of the Week<\/u><\/strong>
\nSal Avila<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Valley City State (N.D.) \u2013 5\u20199\u2033 \u2013 210 lbs., Sophomore \u2013 linebacker \u2013 El Paso, Texas<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Avila anchored Valley City State\u2019s (N.D.) defense in a 30-19 victory over Mayville State (N.D.), recording 10 solo tackles and 13 total tackles.\u00a0He also had a quarterback sack (for 7 yards loss) and a pass break-up.\u00a0 Avila\u2019s 10 solo tackles was a new career-high during his time as a Viking.<\/p>\n
