(uj.edu<\/a>)The eighth-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team accomplished two feats with a 3-0 win over Morningside (Iowa) Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n Not only did Jamestown advance\u00a0to the semifinals of the Great Plains Athletic Conference postseason tournament, but the Jimmies also tied a program record with their 27th win of the season.<\/p>\n Ellie Michaletz<\/a> (JR\/Aitkin, Minn.) led UJ with 13 kills and a team-best .355 hitting percentage, while Isabel Wedell<\/a> (SR\/Ellendale, N.D.) added nine kills and Britta Knudson<\/a> (SR\/Bismarck, N.D.) seven.<\/p>\n Knudson (.333), Jordan Thomas<\/a> (SR\/Pingree, N.D.) (.333), and Wedell (.318) all hit above .300 for Jamestown, now 27-4 this season.<\/p>\n Miranda Lowman<\/a> (SR\/Mandan, N.D.) passed out 23 assists and Jackie Meiklejohn<\/a> (SO\/Dickey, N.D.) 16 in helping the Jimmies to a team hitting percentage of .298.<\/p>\n Hannah Schiele<\/a> (SO\/Jamestown, N.D.) recorded 23 digs, Sydney Ellingson<\/a> (JR\/Langdon, N.D.) 19, and Anna Holen<\/a> (SO\/LaMoure, N.D.) 10 to help Jamestown to a 68-58 advantage in digs.<\/p>\n Corina Ruud<\/a> (JR\/Breezy Point, Minn.) had four total blocks, with Wedell adding three, Michaletz two, and Knudson and Taylor Sabinash<\/a> (SO\/Kensal, N.D.) one each.<\/p>\n Jamestown hosts the winner of Saturday’s Concordia (Neb.) vs. Doane (Neb.) match on Wednesday, November 13 at 7 p.m.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Saturday UJ Volleyball At Harold Newman Arena (uj.edu)The eighth-ranked University of Jamestown women’s volleyball team accomplished two feats with a 3-0 win over Morningside (Iowa) Saturday afternoon.
