Zink, 66, of Jamestown, ND,\u00a0 passed away Nov 27 due to complications of Lewy Body Dementia at JRMC, surrounded by his loving family.<\/p>\n<div class=\"common-layout\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"obit-listbox\">\n<div class=\"obituary\">\n<div class=\"obit-item\">\n<div class=\"obit-content\">\n<p>Darcy Arlen Zink was born December 4, 1952 in Jamestown, the son of C.W. and Neomi (Dunwoodie) Zink. He grew up and attended school in Pingree, ND, graduating from Pingree High School in 1970. \u00a0Darcy attended UND-Ellendale for one year, then Jamestown College where he played basketball and baseball, graduating in 1974. \u00a0He married Joni Nicholls on July 3, 1975. \u00a0Darcy was a high school teacher and coach at Bowbells, ND for three years. \u00a0Later he was a teacher and coach at Medina High School for 12 years where he led the boys&#8217; basketball team to the 1981 State Class B Boys Basketball Tournament. Darcy was employed for 28 years in sales at R.M. Stoudt, Inc.<\/p>\n<p>Darcy remained active in sports for many years. \u00a0His team attended National Fast Pitch Softball Tournaments in 1978 and 1980. Darcy also played slow pitch softball and enjoyed attending his children&#8217;s sporting activities. \u00a0He loved to hunt and had a passion for snowmobiling, especially in South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana and Wyoming. \u00a0Darcy was known as North Dakota&#8217;s #1 Iowa Hawkeye Football Fan.<\/p>\n<p>He is survived by his wife Joni Zink; children, Alexa (Greg Baxter), Jordan (Brenna Storey) and Breanna (James Vandenberg); four grandchildren, Alaina, Landry, Poppy and Colt; siblings, Joel Zink, Kim Zink, Marna (Terry) Schulz and Donelle Zink; father-in-law, Gene H. Nicholls; sister-in-law, Pat Nicholls; and brother-in-law, Guy (Sue) Nicholls; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.<\/p>\n<p>Darcy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jan Zink; nephew, Kyle Zink; mother-in-law, Ora Jeannine Nicholls and brother-in-law, Jay Nicholls.<\/p>\n<p>Family will receive guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 prior to the\u00a0<strong>Prayer Service<\/strong>\u00a0at Trinity Lutheran Church. \u00a0<strong>Memorial Service: \u00a0<\/strong>10:00 a.m. Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jamestown with Pastor Susan Haukaas officiating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Arrangements by Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Darcy A.
