Jacquie Brown-Stratford passed <\/span>a<\/span>way on <\/span>Thursday, January 30, 2020<\/span> in Fargo, ND<\/span> following a recent cancer diagnosis<\/span>. <\/span>Visitation <\/span>with family <\/span>present <\/span>will be 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Wednesday, February 5, 2020 <\/span>at Eddy Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND. <\/span>A private service with family will be held<\/span>. A<\/span> spring burial <\/span>will take place <\/span>at Calvary Cemetery in Jamestown.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jacquie was born on June 26, 1951 to Jack and Mirt (Martel) Brown in Jamestown. She was the oldest child, followed by 2 sisters and 1 brother. She learned to be a caregiver very early, always helping with her younger siblings and neighborhood children. Growing up, she loved the water and enjoyed her summers lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons at the old Jamestown Municipal pool.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She was a lifelong learner who treasured books and deeply valued education.\u00a0 She read multiple books a week and was the first to call the library when the list of arriving books was printed in the newspaper to reserve her copy.\u00a0 She instilled that love of learning and reading, along with the importance of education to each of her children always encouraging them to pursue academics. After her young daughter\u2019s cancer diagnosis, she returned to college to pursue a nursing degree in an effort to better understand her care. Jacquie was a graduate of both the University of North Dakota and Jamestown College with over 4 degrees conferred.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She was a loving mom who put her 5 children and 2 grandsons above herself always.\u00a0 She especially loved watching her sons, grandsons, and nephews play baseball at Jack Brown Stadium and enjoying a coke in the sun with family and friends. Watching her children and grandchildren\u2019s various games, speeches, and music performances gave her joy and were the anchors of her calendar. Her pride in their accomplishments was shared with those close to her.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Jacquie loved creating beauty around everyone \u2013 flower gardens, detailed quilts, cross stitching or refinishing cabinetry were among her special talents. She had a quiet demeanor but a sharp sense of humor.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 She was proceeded in death by grandparents, Dorman and Babe Brown; Adam and Eugenia Klein. Her namesake and father, Jack; her beautiful daughter Alicia; sister-in-law Deidra; nephew Philip.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Her survivors include her husband of almost 40 years, Christopher; her son Jeff and daughter-in-law, Sarah and identical twin grandsons, Joseph and Jackson; daughter Tessa; daughter Cassie; her son Eric and daughter-in-law, Jessica. And maybe just a few too many grand dogs! She is also survived by the remainder of her family, including: her mother Mirt Brown, sister Jill (Richard); sister Barbara; brother Richard; two stepchildren, Liz (Gary) and Nicholas; four step grandchildren: Ryan, Laura, Andrew and Eric; along with nieces Narrah and Tara; nephews Jack and Greg.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Please consider contributing to the Alfred Dickey Public Library Foundation, Jamestown or the Jamestown Park and Recreation Foundation\/Jack Brown Stadium fund as memorial gifts in her name.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
