Alfred E. Kuska, 89, of Dickey, ND, died Friday, August 3, 2012 at Sanford Health, Fargo, ND following a brief illness.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Alfred Kuska was born on July 22, 1923, in Saratoga Township, near Dickey, ND the eldest son of Cyrus E. and Edith (Knepke) Kuska.\u00a0 Alfred grew up and attended school in the Dickey area and remained there all his life.\u00a0 He married Roiene Winters on November 15, 1945 in Aberdeen, SD.\u00a0 They started their farm near Dickey and remained involved with farming until his death.\u00a0 While farming was his passion, Alfred also engaged in other occupations as well.\u00a0 He worked for the LaMoure County Road crew and with a construction company that was responsible for building Fargo North High School.\u00a0 Alfred also worked for Adrian Elevator in Adrian, ND.\u00a0 No matter what other career choices he aspired to, his love of farming always won.\u00a0 No matter his age, he never gave up on farming.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Alfred loved fishing, playing cards, dancing,\u00a0and spending time with his family.\u00a0 He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Roiene Kuska, Dickey, ND; children, Donna (Al) Larson, Dilworth, MN, Diane (Don) McCabe, Fargo, ND, Lynn Kuska, Dickey, ND, and Denice Porter, LaMoure, ND; grandchildren, Jennifer Lee, Tiffany Gaber, Shawn McCabe, Heidi Riddle, Casey Kuska, Blake Kuska, Nicole Peyerl, Brice Kuska, Todd Porter, Blain Porter, Jodi Porter, and Calli Porter; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Peterson, Jamestown, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Kuska; grandson, Cody Kuska; and brother, Arnold Kuska.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n


\nFuneral Service: <\/strong>10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at\u00a0Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian, ND.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Vigil:<\/strong> 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Visitation:<\/strong> 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Adrian.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
