{"id":194652,"date":"2020-03-19T21:00:21","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T02:00:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=194652"},"modified":"2020-03-20T10:07:46","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T15:07:46","slug":"jps-organizing-on-line-classes-free-food-to-continue","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=194652","title":{"rendered":"JPS organizing on line classes, free food to continue"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 With Governor Doug Burgum announcing Thursday the ND K-12 public schools ar closed indefinitely, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jamestown.k12.nd.us\/updates\/index\">Jamestown Public Schools<\/a> Superintendent\u00a0 Dr. Robert Lech says\u00a0 the school district\u00a0 will continue to provide breakfast and lunch for those who call ahead.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, Jamestown Public School food services served 223 meals. and more meals will be served.<\/p>\n<p>Plans continue to provide distance a virtual learning education for JPS students.\u00a0 Monday, March 23rd is the date planned to implement online courses, and full implemented by April 1, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Burgum has set a deadline of March 27 for districts to develop plans for educating students even if those students can not return to the classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>The programs would be intended to go into effect on April 1 and could include online education or other remote learning procedures.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As students and parents,\u00a0 picked up personal items at school buildings this week they have been given informational handouts.\u00a0 Parents and students can also call the building principals to request more information.<\/p>\n<p>Burgum&#8217;s executive order shortened the school year from 175 days to 163 days.
