{"id":201672,"date":"2020-06-05T12:00:49","date_gmt":"2020-06-05T17:00:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=201672"},"modified":"2020-06-15T16:07:37","modified_gmt":"2020-06-15T21:07:37","slug":"jean-stanford-jun-4-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=201672","title":{"rendered":"Jean Clara Stanford &#8211; Jun 4, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"subpage\">\n<div class=\"container\">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12\">\n<div class=\"obit-listbox\">\n<div class=\"obituary\">\n<div class=\"obit-item\">\n<div class=\"obit-content\">\n<p>Jean Stanford, age 85, of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, June 4<sup>th<\/sup> at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.\u00a0 A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 19<sup>th<\/sup> at Memory Gardens Cemetery.<\/p>\n<p>Jean Clara Grindler, the daughter of Oscar and Bertha (Carl) Grindler, was born November 14, 1934 in Valley City.\u00a0 Clara grew up and attended school in Valley City.\u00a0 On December 30, 1955 she married Gordon Stanford in Valley City.\u00a0 The couple then moved to South Carolina while Gordon was in the Army.\u00a0 The couple lived in South Carolina for two years before returning to Valley City where they farmed together until 1992 when Gordon passed away.\u00a0 Jean continued to live on the farm for many years.\u00a0 She enjoyed gardening, her beautiful flowers and fishing.\u00a0 Jean also enjoyed painting and helping people with their homes.\u00a0 Jean\u2019s favorite pastime was taking care of her grandchildren, baking and sharing a special treat with visitors.<\/p>\n<p>Jean is survived by her two children, Scott (Kay) Stanford, Valley City, ND and Jeff (Rona) Stanford, Mandan, ND; four grandsons, Jason Thornton, James (Janet) Thornton, Jarin (Gina) Thornton and Justin Thornton; nine great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n<p>Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gordon, one sister Stella Grindler and one brother Arthur Grindler.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jean Stanford, age 85, of Valley City, ND, died Wednesday, June 4th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City.\u00a0 A public graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 19th at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
